Heather Valentine

Heather Valentine HeadshotHeather Valentine is the founder and creative mind behind The Sewing Loft.  She is a 4th generation seamstress, former apparel designer, wife and mother.  Her mission is to inspire others to think outside of the box with projects that keep the 3 R’s in mind:  Reduce, Reclaim, And Recraft.  She loves sharing her skills with others and believes that mixing fresh ideas with something old is the perfect recipe to create new exciting fun!

Heather is a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York with a degree in design and pattern-making.  Her apparel career includes working for some of the top designers in the industry.  This real world experience has exposed her to many areas of the industry and has impressed the importance of a quality hand- made product.

Heather shares her creative process, ideas and projects on her blog.  She is excited to watch the new direction of her business thrive and grow with many new opportunities rising,  including her most recent accomplishment of contributing editor to Green Child Magazine.
