December Creative Play Day 15: Angel Kiss Prescription by Candace Jedrowicz

December Creative Play Day 15 Angel Kiss Prescription by Candace Jedrowicz -Hero Shot
The Cool2Craft Creative Play theme for December is “Give Yourself a Gift.” You give to everyone else during the holidays and all year long. Time to give yourself a treat! Make something, go somewhere, do something that’s just for you and photograph it! Then share it with us – post it on the Cool2Craft Creative Play blog on the Hive. Anything goes! I’m going to run with this theme and craft every day in December. I’ll be posting tutorials and videos as well as making some kits available at the Marketplace. Join me on Cool2Craft for 31 days of blissful, healing, creative play and give yourself the gift of play, too! [Candace J.]

My daughter just got her dream job.  She’ll be working as a Certified Nursing Assistant at the University of Utah Hospital.  I made this to remind her that angels go with her wherever she goes and in every situation.  I’m going to fill it with jelly beans and give it to her on her birthday next week.
This project can be done in just a few minutes! You’ll need:

A prescription bottle, or any bottle, really

A computer or hand-drawn label on heavy paper or card stock

Scissors and optional decorative corner cutter

Aleene’s Quick Dry Tacky Glue and glitter glue

Decorative elements for the cap – I used ribbon, flowers & a jewel

Here’s the label.  The measurement depends on your bottle.  I’m sure you know someone who could use a prescription for angel kisses!
Glue the label on the bottle and burnish until it’s smooth.  Edge the label in glitter glue.  I wanted a very narrow glitter line, so I used the Creativity Sisters’ tape trick to narrow the nozzle.  Here’s a link to a demo illustrating this technique.
Here is my completed cap.  It’s three ribbon bows, a white flower on a pink flower and a jewel.
See how easy?!  I hope you’ll make one and share it with me. Just head on over to The Hive and post your photo on my group page!

  1. Hi Candace,
My work is kind of whimsical and kitschy I guess. I make beads, jewelry, pens, ornaments …. the usual LOL
This is the link to my Flickr site

Jana is the most amazing cane artist ! She has been teaching all over the world for about the last 5 years. She is often seen in photos with Dona Kato, Lisa Pavelka, Klew and many other well known artists at clay events and retreats.

    Jana Roberts Benzon

Lorie is so Incredible ! She does sculpture work…. mainly Mermaids and Fairies.
She sculpts fairies in all sizes… ranging in size from being able to fit in to a walnut shell to 4 ft tall.
She has also created 2 Life size Dolls
Polly Merclay and Shoot I cant think of the other ones name but Polly goes everywhere with Lorie and is always wearing different clothes everytime I see her ~ She has quite the personality.

  2. Hi Candace,
It’s your crafty Utah “neighbor” Here(I had the float that I did with my son. in the virtual parade if you don’t remember me). I just wanted to let you know that I LOVE this. I have a ton of old pill bottles that I have been hanging on to knowing that one day the right project would come up. This is just to cute : ) I also wanted to let you know that your daughter is going to be working at a Great hospital. I actually had surgery there a few years ago and was there for 4 days ~ They were really great.

FYI ~ I have been looking at your daily crafts and have really enjoyed all of them, Thanks for taking the time to do it ! I have not been able to see any pics though, except for the one at the top. Just a big blank spot after each section.

As a fellow clayer I was just wondering if you have ever heard of or met Jana Roberts Benzon or Lorie O Follet. If not they live here in Utah and they are both AMAzing Artists ! They are friends of mine and if you ever plan to be in the Salt Lake area and want to get together let me know and maybe we can meet you.

Thanks again for your wonderful projects !

Hi Kellee! I would love to get together! I haven’t heard of your friends, but the only clay socializing I ever did was at NCECA events years ago, so I’m a little out of the loop.
I’m so glad you’re checking out the crafts! I’m having a ball! I’m checking into the photo problem. I can’t imagine why they don’t show up, unless There’s a broken link =0/.
What kind of clay work do you do?
