December Creative Play Day 29: Shimmering Polymer Clay Tile Frame and Glitter Work by Candace Jedrowicz

The Cool2Craft Creative Play theme for December is “Give Yourself a Gift.” You give to everyone else during the holidays and all year long. Time to give yourself a treat! Make something, go somewhere, do something that’s just for you and photograph it! Then share it with us – post it on the Cool2Craft Creative Play blog on The Hive. Anything goes! I’m going to run with this theme and craft every day in December. I’ll be posting tutorials and videos as well as making some kits available at the Marketplace. Join me on Cool2Craft for 31 days of blissful, healing, creative play and give yourself the gift of play, too! [Candace J.]

It’s time to finish my deva self portrait.  It needs super cool accent tiles!  I don’t know if you noticed, I use spirals a lot in my work.  I love this beautiful spiral fondant roller!  What else do I love? Shimmer! And glitter! Wait until you see!

I rolled out black polymer clay on the thickest setting of the pasta machine and burnished a rainbow colored crafting foil on it.  Then I rolled the fondant roller over it.

I used a 1″ square cutter to cut out my tiles. I baked the clay according to the directions.

I glued the tiles in place with Aleene’s Quick Dry Tacky Glue.
I love working with fine art glitter, but you need a fine line of glue so I got the tape and the Tacky Glue and used the Creativity Sister’s narrow nozzle tape trick!
Now it looks complete.  A littler shimmer and glitter makes everything better!

I hope you have shimmer and glitter in your life everyday!
