Celebrating her rich creative heritage, Tiffany Windsor’s beautiful eggshell mosaic bracelets are created with a vintage crafting technique made popular back in the 1960’s by her mother Aleene. Alcohol inks provide the rich and bright colors to this fan favorite technique. Featured on Cool2Craft TV.

Materials:

Resin jewelry shapes

Egg shells (brown or white)

Aleene’s Original Tacky Glue (in the gold bottle)

Alcohol ink (color(s) of your choice)

Beads (to coordinate with alcohol ink color)

Thick clear glaze (for topcoat)

Beading wire

Jewelry clasp

White craft pearlsFave Crafts Blog Hop Logo

Crimp beads

Bowl with water

Sanding block

Paper towel

Eggshell Mosaic Bracelet by Tiffany Windsor - 1 Remove eggshells from eggs. Place shells in lukewarm water and soak overnight.
Eggshell Mosaic Bracelet by Tiffany Windsor - 2 Remove white membrane from back of eggshells.
Eggshell Mosaic Bracelet by Tiffany Windsor - 3 Set cleaned eggshells on paper towel to dry completely.
Eggshell Mosaic Bracelet by Tiffany Windsor - 4 Break eggshells into small pieces.
Eggshell Mosaic Bracelet by Tiffany Windsor - 5 Apply glue to jewelry shape.
Eggshell Mosaic Bracelet by Tiffany Windsor - 6 Smooth glue with finger. Be sure to spread glue to all edges.
Eggshell Mosaic Bracelet by Tiffany Windsor - 7 Place eggshell onto glue.
Eggshell Mosaic Bracelet by Tiffany Windsor - 8 Press with finger. The eggshell will crack under finger and the glue will hold the cracked pieces in place. If desired, gently move pieces slightly to add space in between pieces.
Eggshell Mosaic Bracelet by Tiffany Windsor - 9 You will need to move fairly quickly to add each eggshell piece as the glue can dry quickly.
Eggshell Mosaic Bracelet by Tiffany Windsor -10 Continue to cover entire surface with eggshells. Let glue dry overnight
Eggshell Mosaic Bracelet by Tiffany Windsor -14 When glue is dry, use thumbnail to break off shells which overhang on edge.
Eggshell Mosaic Bracelet by Tiffany Windsor -11 Apply alcohol ink directly from bottle to top surface.
Eggshell Mosaic Bracelet by Tiffany Windsor -12 For a darker appearance, apply a generous amount. Let dry. Apply ink to side and bottom surface. Let dry.
Eggshell Mosaic Bracelet by Tiffany Windsor -13 For matching pearls, apply ink to surface of pearl.
Eggshell Mosaic Bracelet by Tiffany Windsor -15 When ink has completely dried, place face down on sanding block and rub back and forth.
Eggshell Mosaic Bracelet by Tiffany Windsor -16 Continue to sand top and edges until desired coloring is achieved. Check edges to see if any sharp edges remain. Sand to remove any remaining sharp edges. Wipe off excess dust with paper towel.
Eggshell Mosaic Bracelet by Tiffany Windsor -17 Apply glaze over top surface. Let dry overnight.
